Jacob’s Story

Jacob, a homeless man with four young children, faces a series of formidable intake barriers that pose significant challenges to his family's well-being. Unemployment and homelessness place immense strain on Jacob as he struggles to provide a stable environment for his children. The situation becomes even more complex as two of his children have special needs, requiring additional care, attention, and resources. This creates a profound sense of urgency for Jacob to find stable housing and secure employment to support his family adequately.

“We are attempting to get him and his four children out of a homeless shelter, where his family is forced to leave between 8am to 4pm.”

-Chuck Milton, Executive Director at William’s House

Fortunately, William's House is stepping in to provide critical assistance. Through their intervention, all of Jacob's children are enrolled in school, ensuring they have access to education and a semblance of stability in their lives. Additionally, William’s House secured a wheelchair, which is likely needed for one of his children with special needs, further enhancing their mobility and quality of life. William's House not only offers food and shelter but also plays a pivotal role in Jacob's journey to self-sufficiency. With their support, Jacob is on the cusp of starting a new job in October, marking a significant step towards overcoming the barriers that once seemed insurmountable. This heartening story illustrates the profound impact that organizations like William's House can have in providing a lifeline to homeless families, offering them hope, stability, and a brighter future.
