OUR MISSION
William's House's mission is to empower fathers in recovery to achieve self-sufficiency and attain housing and financial sustainability.
Family Empowerment Program
WH has created a 24-plus month program—Family Empowerment Program—built on six pillars to provide holistic support to men with children: 1) Housing Stability, 2) Financial Literacy & Wealth Building, 3) Family Counseling, 4) Physical & Mental Wellness, 5) Sobriety Maintenance, and 6) Career Heights.
First, we provide secure housing and promote homeownership, and complement these efforts with classes on budgeting, credit restoration, and wealth building. WH is partnering with The Drake House, HomeStretch, Coastal States Bank, Renasant Bank, and the United Way to create a robust Financial Literacy-Wealth Building curriculum. This program equips fathers with the knowledge and tools to make smart financial choices, participate in matched-savings programs, manage their finances effectively, and strive for financial independence. By integrating the Housing Stability and Financial Literacy-Wealth Building pillars to provide temporary direct financial aid for housing costs we make a significant impact by helping families maintain stable housing.
Our holistic model focuses on the wellness of the whole person: physically, relationally, emotionally. Through our Family Counseling and Physical & Mental Wellness work, our licensed staff provides weekly counseling services for both men, their children, and even their mothers. We also promote well-being through activities like horticultural therapy and boxing. Additionally, William’s House supports ongoing recovery through daily 12-step meetings and by providing sponsors to each of our clients. Lastly, our Career Heights program directs individuals towards successful careers with vocational advocacy and scholarships for significantly higher wages than HUD’s affordability standard.
Our Six Pillars
Housing
William’s House provides secure housing as a vital foundation for long-term stability, offering fathers in recovery a safe and supportive environment to rebuild their lives. By promoting homeownership, WH empowers these fathers to break free from the cycle of homelessness and create lasting stability for their families.
Physical and Mental Wellness
Comprehensive mental health care is essential for long-term success, promoting resilience, well-being, and overall quality of life. William’s House provides psychiatric, psychological, and therapeutic services, ensuring holistic support for fathers and their families.
Financial Literacy: Wealth Building
Financial literacy is key to economic independence, helping fathers develop skills in budgeting, credit restoration, and wealth building. Through strategic partnerships, we equip participants with the knowledge and resources to achieve financial self-sufficiency and generational wealth.
Sobriety Maintenance
Sustained recovery thrives on support through 12-step programs, mentorship, and sponsorship. Through service work, fellowship, and meetings, we foster accountability and connection, helping fathers stay sober and build a strong future.
Family Counseling
Strengthening family bonds is essential for recovery and stability, and we provide structured counseling to improve communication and resolve conflicts.
Tailored therapy for fathers, mothers, and children ensures holistic healing and fosters a supportive home environment.
Career Heights
Economic empowerment is key to breaking generational poverty. Through vocational advocacy and scholarships, we help fathers build sustainable careers, secure high-paying jobs, and achieve financial independence—breaking the cycle of poverty and creating stability for their children.

PILLAR 4
Physical and Mental Wellness
Physical and mental wellness is vital as it fosters overall well-being, enhances quality of life, improves resilience, and enables individuals to lead fulfilling and productive lives.
William’s House offers weekly “DIG” (Dads in the Garden) classes led by a certified horticultural therapist, combining gardening, culinary skills, and recovery support. Participants grow herbs and vegetables, which are donated to the local food bank, and gain therapeutic benefits like stress relief, community connection, and self-esteem. Lessons from 12-step recovery programs are integrated into gardening activities to reinforce themes like acceptance, patience, and personal growth.
